Dalai Lama donated $ 1.7 million for charity

GNO - Dalai Lama after receiving the 2012 Templeton prize has announced it will donate prize money of £ 1.1 million (USD 1.7 million) for charity. Speaking before more than 2,000 people inside the church Saint Paul in London (UK), the Dalai Lama said he would extract most of the prize money to help malnourished children in India.
Specifically, he will contribute $ 1.5 million awards for Save the Children India, a leading organization in the fight against malnutrition - one of the biggest causes of causing the death of children worldwide.

It is known that the Templeton Prize, the largest monetary award annually to an individual for contributions to encourage scientific research and the harmony between religions.
