THE TEACHINGS ABOUT NOT EATING MEAT.

He Drubwang Konchok Norbu RinpocheIn countless rebirth, all sentient beings have been our parents. When we are reborn in human beings, we are the parents of humanity, when regeneration in mammals, we have the parent animals and so on. Samsara is like. We need to develop a sense of gratitude to their parents in this life and the parents in our past lives. So we should be vegetarians and avoid meat. That way, we do good and give meaning to our practice. By doing so, the practice of the six syllable mantra will be able to benefit oneself and others, and also aided the development of Dharma
Drubwang Konchok Norbu Rinpoche

1. As Buddhists, we practice to benefit themselves and others. So we practice reciting the six-syllable mantra ( Om Mani Padme Hung ). However, when we eat meat - chicken, pork, fish or eggs in our daily lives, we are creating a multitude of bad karma.
2. If on the one hand, we recite and on the other hand, we eat other sentient beings, then such words and our actions do not go together . We do not practice as I preach. This can be seen as loving kindness and compassion towards others? Is doing good and avoiding evil? We seek refuge in the Buddha because his teachings could benefit all sentient beings. As Buddhists, we should thoroughly understand the essence of the wisdom and teachings of the Buddha, which is doing good and avoiding evil committed. Avoid doing evil means that we must obey the rules. So we should not eat meat.
3. When we are sick, elderly or close to die, we go to the doctor - we practice and do everything possible and extend our life span. However, when we eat meat, we are killing these beings are still healthy. Compassion and kindness of our great, what if we treat them like living in a way? We should avoid killing incurred by it countless bad karma. Instead, we should develop loving kindness and compassion for all beings.
4. In countless rebirth, all sentient beings have been our parents . When we are reborn in human beings, we are the parents of humanity, when regeneration in mammals, we have the parent animals and so on. Samsara is like. We need to develop a sense of gratitude to their parents in this life and the parents in our past lives. So we should be vegetarians and avoid meat. In this way, we do good and give meaning to our practice. By doing so, the practice of the six syllable mantra will be able to benefit oneself and others, and also aided the development of Dharma.
5. Some people say that doctors advised them not vegetarians, because they would be malnutrition. (The fact that a balanced vegetarian menu is better than a non-vegetarian menu a lot.) This is an indication that the decisions of these people are not strong enough. Because if they have strong decision making, they will avoid at all costs and virtue in any circumstances.
6. So in our daily lives, we should avoid the virtue of meat. On this basis, the merit arising from the refuge and practice of six-syllable mantra, you can not imagine. We should strive to change their lifestyle to become a vegetarian. Certainly we will have difficulty becoming vegetarian eaters. However, when such obstacles appear, we should remember every single living thought at some point it had been the star of our parents. When you remember that, I will not eat meat as their parents did not have in this life.
