In traditional Tibetan Buddhism has four major lines: Nyingma (Old-Hat Red), Kagyu (Black Hat), Sakya, Gelug (Yellow Hat). The largest is also divided into several branches.

The lineage which have a common origin are tenets of Buddha Like Ca Conflict Ni.

While each lineage are derived from a separate organization, but about basic tenets are similar. Black Hat line tenets was him Diamond tradition down to Tilopa is the Indians. Then the Dhamma is passed down to him Naropa (also Indian). Naropa had surpassed all his 24 challenge and tho was the entire catechism conferred by Tilopa. Later doctrines are transmitted to Marpa.
